Baked Apple Cider Donuts

Ingredients

  • ½ cup apple cider
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar firmly packed
  • 1/2 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 cup whole milk

Sugar Coating

  • 1 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon allspice
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter melted

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 ℉. Spray a donut pan with non-stick spray and set aside.
  • In one bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice and set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla together until it becomes frothy. Gradually add in the apple cider.
  • Add in the flour mixture and mix until well combined.
  • Spoon batter into the prepared donut pan.
  • Bake in a 350 ℉ oven for 10-12 minutes.
  • While the donuts are baking, combine the granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice in a shallow plate or bowl.
  • When the donuts are finished baking, dip them one by one, into the melted butter. Then, roll in the sugar mixture shaking any excess off.
  • Cool donuts on a wire rack.
